Sarika Arya is a third-year JD candidate interested in human rights issues as they arise in war, national security, and immigration. Prior to law school, she worked on the United Nations drone inquiry under the Special Rapporteur for Counterterrorism and Human Rights, and interned at Human Rights Watch and the International Crisis Group. While at NYU, Sarika has helped advocate for reparations for a survivor of CIA secret detention and torture, and is currently representing an asylum-seeker in immigration proceedings. Sarika has a MA in Human Rights from the London School of Economics and a BA in Ethics Politics & Economics, and Theater Studies from Yale University.
