Jayne Huckerby Recruited to Launch Duke Human Rights Clinic
March 5, 2013

Former CHRGJ Research Director (2006-11) Jayne Huckerby has been recruited by Duke Law School to launch the school’s first-ever human rights clinic. Huckerby–who is also an NYU School of Law LLM Alum, (’04)–has in recent years risen to prominence as one of the world’s foremost experts on the gendered impacts of  U.S. counter-terrorism, an area she researched and wrote about extensively in her time at CHRGJ (see the report, A Decade Lost: Locating Gender in U.S. Counter-Terrorism). Huckerby also co-taught several semesters of the Global Justice Clinic alongside colleague and CHRGJ Faculty Director, Margaret Satterthwaite.
