On May 10, 2013, Prof. Philip Alston will join Portugal, Uruguay, and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, to celebrate the entry into force of the Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.

The Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights entered into force on May 5th 2013.  Many activities are planned for May 10th to celebrate this important milestone for human rights. A program for this activities and events is available here.
