NYU Law Team Selected to Participate in the 2014 Jean-Pictet Competition in Sintra, Portugal

The NYU Law Jean-Pictet Competition Team has been selected to participate in the 2014 Jean-Pictet Competition on International Humanitarian Law to be held in Sintra, Portugal in March 2014. The selection was made by the Comité pour le Concours Jean-Pictet from among 82 applications from 41 countries; NYU is one of the 48 teams selected from 29 countries.

The Jean-Pictet Competition is hosted by the International Committee of the Red Cross and is a unique opportunity to gain in-depth and hands-on knowledge of international humanitarian law while at the same time meeting students from around the world.

2014 NYU Team, 26th Edition (Sintra, Portugal, March 1-8, 2014):

Dennis Ardis, a JD Candidate (Class of 2014) and honors graduate of the University of Oklahoma. He was a 2011-12 and 2012-13 International Law and Human Rights Fellow and a recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship in Middle East Studies which sent him to Jordan, with proficiently in French and Arabic.

Christopher Nairn, an LL.M Candidate from Scotland, is an honors graduate of the University of Edinburgh, which included international humanitarian law studies at the University of Copenhagen. He has also interned with Partners in Health in Rwanda and the Clinton Global Initiative.

Abby Zeith, an LL.M Candidate from Australia, is an honors graduate of Queensland University of Technology School of Law and a member of the Australian Army Reserve. She is a 2013-14 International Law and Human Rights Fellow.
