CHRGJ Congratulates Managing Director Stacy Cammarano on Judicial Clerkship
July 2, 2015

CHRGJ is proud to congratulate its Managing Director, Stacy Cammarano, on her appointment as a law clerk to the Honorable David Briones, Senior United States District Judge in the Western District of Texas. This is a wonderful opportunity for Stacy to advance her career in human rights and public interest litigation. As Managing Director, Stacy has been highly effective in directing the Center’s operations, expanding its public profile in new media, and cultivating its collaborative relationships with partner organizations. Stacy has placed special emphasis on increasing opportunities for students and providing guidance on, and outlets for, human rights legal scholarship. Stacy will be leaving the Center on July 10. We wish her all the best in her new job.

We are pleased to announce that Stacy will be replaced by Tine Destrooper who until now has been a Scholar in Residence at the Center. Tine holds a Ph.D. in Social and Political Sciences at the European University Institute in Florence, where she specialized in the relationship between armed conflict, social movements, and gender. Her prior work involves research on the local relevance of transitional justice and of human rights, with a focus on the right to water, as well as the gender dimensions of these issues. She has worked as post-doctoral researcher at the University of Leiden and the University of Antwerp and as an intern at the United Nations Commissioner for Human Rights and the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She is also the author of several book chapters and articles in peer-reviewed journals. Please join us in welcoming Tine to CHRGJ and the NYU community.
