Does the opportunity to argue before real judges of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands sound exciting? If so, apply to be on NYU’s three-person team for the official ICC Trial Competition.
I am writing to invite you to try out this fall for the ICC Moot Court Competition. International criminal law is a fascinating subject and sits at the confluence of domestic criminal law, general international law, and human rights law. You’ll get to work on a whole range of issues, sharpen your legal research and writing, gain some mooting experience and work with a fantastic group of people.
While preparation will begin this semester, the submission of written materials will require work over the winter break, and the participation in oral arguments will take place during the spring.
The international criminal law component can be learned effectively during the process with dedication, though previous knowledge is an advantage.
Note for LLMs: Unfortunately we cannot accept applicants who are admitted to practice law in any jurisdiction.
Please email Bianca Isaias (biancaisaias27@gmail.com) (bci201@nyu.edu), with resume attached, for details and to receive the full application. The completed application is due October 23, so write asap!
