Pablo de Greiff to Participate in a Public Hearing on the Impacts of the Destruction of Schools in Syria

CHRGJ’s Transitional Justice Program Director and UN Special Rapporteur on the Promotion of Truth, Justice, Reparations, and Guarantees of Non-Recurrence Pablo de Greiff will participate in a public hearing about the impact of the destruction of schools in Syria on March 22 in Geneva, Switzerland.

For the past year, ten Syrian human rights organizations have been working in partnership with the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ) to document and expose the long-term impacts of the attacks to and the destruction of schools in Syria. The project, Save Syrian Schools, will present its findings in a public hearing-style event in Geneva on March 22, at Forum Genève, from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Four Syrian victims directly affected by attacks on schools will share their experiences in a public hearing-style event examining the impact of the destruction of schools before a global audience that includes activists, policy makers, international organizations, and more.
