On Wednesday, October 31, CHRGJ Co-Chair and Faculty Director Professor Philip Alston will participate in a conference discussing whether international aid has become a tool for leveraging power in the game of international relations or if it remains an expression of a more complex social relationship. Given the most up-to-date situations, such as during the Cholera crisis in Haiti from 2010 to 2018, and previous historical situations, as in Cameroon in the 1950s, is it possible to learn from these failures and take a step toward building a new paradigm of peace, politics and society?
The event is hosted by SESTIM and Prospective Cooperation and will take place in person at the La Timone Faculty of Medicine in Marseille and online from 2:00-5:00 p.m. GMT+1.
