In the spring of 2012, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) convened a Policy Working Group to investigate the impact of emerging technologies on the humanitarian sector. The group has placed special emphasis on information management and the way sin which technology may transform humanitarian action, including consideration of possible adverse effects and risks in addition to tremendous potential for benefit.  The group has contributed to the first ever recently published OCHA flagship publication, which shares the findings, conclusions, and recommendations of the group.
