The Caribbean is one of the regions most vulnerable to climate change, and yet its civil society leaders and organizations and its governmental officials have faced substantial challenges in trying to plug effectively into the human rights and climate change field and leverage regional and international environmental and human rights bodies and spaces to advance their interests and increase resilience and adaptation to climate change.
The Future of Rights Practicum (FOR) launched this line of work to address this state of affairs and collaborate with local partners to advance climate justice in the region. FOR – along with its partners and NYU clinical students – advances rights-based climate litigation, advocacy, research, and field building in the Caribbean region.
