Allen Wang
Summer Legal Intern

Allen Wang is a rising second-year JD Candidate at Columbia Law School. Informed by his international background, Allen’s primary academic interests are in public international law and comparative law. He served as a 1L representative for the Columbia European Law Association and is a founding member of the new Air and Space Law Association at CLS. Next year, Allen will join the staff of theColumbia Journal of European Law. As a legal intern this summer, Allen will be working on projects undertaken by the Center and the Global Justice Clinic at NYU, including research, analysis, and other supporting tasks in such areas as violations of international human rights and humanitarian law in the context of U.S. counter-terrorism cooperation, and topics in legal empowerment.

Prior to law school, Allen attended the University of Toronto, where he received his B.A.(hons.) specializing in History, writing theses on hindrances to the effectiveness of the International Committee of the Red Cross in wartime, and nationalist politics in central and eastern Europe. During his undergraduate studies, Allen also worked as a research assistant for a project analyzing protests and social movements on college campuses in the U.S. and Canada, and also at the University of Prešov in Slovakia on contemporary trends in minority cultural and linguistic rights in central Europe.
