Biography

Artin Afkhami is Associate Editor at Just Security. He received his JD from the UCLA School of Law in 2017, where he focused on National Security Law and Constitutional Law. He also holds an MA in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School and a BA in Middle East Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.

Before graduate school, Artin served as an Iran Researcher for the New York Times and a Research Associate at Princeton University’s Iran Data Portal. He has also previously worked at the ACLU National Security Project, the California Court of Appeal Chambers of Justice Dennis Perluss, Legal Services of Northern California, and the Office of Senator Dianne Feinstein. Artin is originally from Southern California.
