Helen Jennings is an LLM student from Ireland, here at NYU Law on a Fulbright award. Helen earned her first degree in law at the University of Cambridge, graduating in 2019. Before starting the LLM, she undertook the Bar of England and Wales. Helen will return to London to begin pupillage at 25 Bedford Row, a criminal defence set, in 2021. Helen has been involved with human rights advocacy in Northern Ireland and beyond since the age of thirteen. As a reproductive rights activist, Helen was active in the successful campaign to reform abortion law across the island of Ireland. At NYU, she is particularly interested in international human rights law, sexual and reproductive health rights, and transitional justice. As a Human Rights Scholar, Helen is assisting Professor Philip Alston on his latest works for publication.
