Rachael O’Byrne
Summer Legal Intern

Rachael O’Byrne is an LLM candidate at NYU and a Hauser Global Scholar, with a particular interest in international law, human rights and migration.

Rachael holds a Bachelor of Laws with first class honours and an LL.M. in International and Comparative Law, both from Trinity College Dublin. Alongside her studies, Rachael volunteered as a caseworker for the Irish Innocence Project and led an outreach programme which provided debating training in schools in under-resourced communities. Upon graduating, Rachael served as a clerk on the Supreme Court of Ireland for two years. Following this, she then served as the Executive Legal Officer to the Chief Justice.

As a CHRGJ Summer Intern, Rachael is working on the Human Rights and Privatization Project, which explores how the privatization of essential goods and services impacts the realization of human rights, particularly for low-income groups.
