Youssef Aziz (he/him) is a first-year JD candidate at NYU. As a Human Rights Scholar, he works with the Human Rights and Privatization Project under Professor Philip Alston. He is also a student advocate for the International Refugee Assistance Project and a 1L representative for the International Law Society.
Youssef graduated from Cornell in May 2022 with degrees in Sociology and Psychology (Summa Cum Laude). He graduated with honors in the top 1% of his class as a Merrill Presidential Scholar and member of Phi Beta Kappa. Throughout his undergraduate career, Youssef conducted many independent research projects ranging from racial identity in North Africa to the Egyptian government’s use of online censorship to sway public opinion.
After graduation, Youssef hopes to be an international human rights attorney and shed light on many of the under researched socio-legal issues in Africa and the Middle East.
