Biography

Jackie Gallant is a Legal Fellow at the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice, where she works on projects addressing climate change and the human rights implications of climate change. Jackie holds a JD (cum laude) from NYU School of Law and a BA (magna cum laude) in International Relations from Brown University.

During law school, Jackie interned with the Climate Defense Project, where she worked to advance action on climate change by providing legal support to grassroots climate activists, and with the Conservation Law Foundation, where she worked to hold corporations and the government accountable for environmental harms. She also interned with the Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project and was a volunteer with the law school’s chapter of the International Refugee Assistance Project, through which she assisted asylum seekers and refugees in their efforts to resettle in the United States and other countries. Additionally, Jackie provided legal support to the permanent mission of a small island nation to the UN as a participant in NYU Law’s UN Diplomacy Clinic.
