Meseret Carver
Legal Fellow
Meseret Carver is a Legal Fellow with The Earth Rights Research and Action (TERRA) Program. Before joining TERRA, Meseret worked with the Earth Law Center, Landesa, and the Global Justice Clinic at NYU Law to support Indigenous land rights and promote climate justice. With the Global Justice Clinic, she worked in partnership with an Indigenous district council in Guyana to develop legal strategies that defend their customary lands from unconsented mining expansions. She has also collaborated with civil society organizations across Nepal, Tanzania, and the United States to implement local and national policy changes that protect landless peoples and those most vulnerable in the face of the climate crisis. Meseret received a JD from NYU School of Law in 2026 and a BA from Sarah Lawrence College 2022, where she studied climate-induced migration.
